Following the death of Llewellyn Gross in 1964 due to a carbon monoxide leak in her car, Harvey A. Gross remarried on December 4, 1973. Harvey's second wife, Veronica H. Exactly 12 years before the Harvey's Casino bombing, Richard L. "Dick" Chartrand, co-owner of Barney's Club across the street from Harvey's, was killed by a car bomb at his Lake Tahoe home on August 27, 1968.
